New migration options to support recovery after the floods
25 May 2022 by RC Migration
The Australian Department of Migration has announced new measures to support the recovery of areas affected by the floods in the country.
The measures make conditions more flexible and improve conditions for holders and applicants for certain visas. Among the measures are:
OPTIONS FOR WORKING HOLIDAY VISA HOLDERS
Now, those who have the working holiday visa and work in sectors that help the recovery of the country after the floods, will be able to count this work for the renewal of their visa.
In addition, the holders of this visa will be able to work for more than 6 months for the same employer without requesting a permit.
OPTIONS FOR COVID VISA APPLICANTS
Now, anyone who works in any industry (including sectors that help with recovery after the floods) will be able to apply for the COVID Visa.
This visa will allow the bearer to stay in Australia for 6 to 12 months with no work restrictions.
OPTIONS FOR TEMPORARY WORK VISA (VISA 400) AND TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VUSA (VISA 482 TSS) APPLICANTS
The Department of Migration will prioritize applications for the Temporary Work Visa (400) and the TSS Visa (482) from people who work in affected sectors and who help the recovery of the country.
