Opening of Victoria’s immigration program

The Victorian Skilled Migration Program has been opened, accepting applications from both Victorian residents and overseas applicants. Changes have been made to the Regional Skilled Work (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491), where onshore applicants are now required to live and work in regional Victoria at the time of nomination. Some outer suburbs of Melbourne are also included in regional zones as defined by the Department of Home Affairs.

This means that if you submitted an application of interest (ROI) for subclass 491 in the 2022-23 year and were not selected, you will need to submit a new ROI if you are still eligible. There are no changes to the Qualified Persons (Subclass 190) visa nomination program.
