Visas for entrepreneurs and investors in Australia
Australia Golden Visa by RC Migration
Australia has several pathways that you can explore to achieve permanent residency and one of the less common paths is to apply as an investor or entrepreneur. Although it is not an easy path, it is not impossible, nor do you need millions of dollars to achieve it. Of course, having a clear pathway and being well-advised is essential to achieve permanent residence as an investor.
If you want to get residency as an entrepreneur or investor, there are several visas that you could analyze to find the most suitable one for you. Here we mention some, just keep in mind that this is general information and it is essential that you speak with an Immigration Agent specialized in these unusual options:
1. Business Innovation and Investment Visa (Visa 188)
This is a group of visas for entrepreneurs. It has different categories depending on the amount to invest, the business you have, and the one you want to develop in Australia. Initially, it is a temporary visa of 5 years with a pathway to the permanent visa (888). The investment amounts and the size of the business depend on the category you choose.
2. Skilled Work Regional (Visa 491) Small Business Owner
Within the General Skilled Migration program, some states, such as South Australia, Tasmania, ACT, and Queensland offer nomination for this visa to entrepreneurs and business people.
This visa is designed for small business owners in some regional areas. It lasts up to 5 years and can take you to Permanent Residence (Visa 191).
Although you should not invest millions of dollars, you must have operated a small business in one of these areas and demonstrate that the business is profitable enough to pay you and your employees.
This is one of the most recommended visas for independent professionals and small business owners who are willing to operate in regional areas since it does not require a very high investment.
3. Sponsored Visas (Visa 482, 186, 494)
Although these visas are not initially designed for entrepreneurs, they do allow you to be sponsored by your own company. To do this, your business must have reached a significant operating size, be operating, and meet certain requirements to sponsor you or any employee.
One of the advantages of these visas is that you do not necessarily have to apply from a regional one nor are you obliged to invest millions, it is even valid for companies abroad. Your business must demonstrate a certain annual turnover depending on the role to which you are applying.
