The Tasmanian Immigration Department has provided data on processing times and slot utilization in visa categories 190 and 491.
Below are the key points:
Processing Times:
- The oldest nomination request pending processing was submitted on October 20, 2023.
- After assigning a case for processing, the goal is to provide a result within 10 days.
Qualified Nominee Visa (Subclass 190):
- Nominations used: 295 of 600 places.
- Nomination requests submitted but not decided: 44.
- Invitations issued but not yet accepted: 21.
- Interest records in hand: 518.
Regional Skilled Work Visa (Subclass 491):
- Nominations used: 217 of 600 places.
- Nomination requests submitted but not decided: 21.
- Invitations issued but not yet accepted: 17.
- Interest records in hand: 395.
Continuous Selection Process:
- Migration Tasmania continually selects Records of Interest (ROI) to solicit nominations.
- Up to 30 invitations are issued each week.
- Only the most competitive ROIs are selected to apply for nomination.
Importantly, the allocation and processing process aims to provide results in an efficient timeframe, and Migration Tasmania follows a selective approach in choosing ROIs to solicit nominations.
