Australia’s borders will fully open from February 21
7 February 2022 By RC Migration
The Prime Minister of Australia has announced today, February 7, 2022, that it will no longer be necessary to apply for a special permit (Travel exemption) to enter the country as of February 21 of this year.
As of this date, all vaccinated people with temporary or permanent visas, including tourists, will be able to enter Australia without any type of restriction.
After 2 years of waiting, this is great news for people who have received their visa and are outside of Australia.
However, unvaccinated people will have to apply for a permit to enter the country and quarantine in a hotel assigned by the government.
All this comes after Omicron peaked last week, which has also positively affected Australian residents who will now be able to have elective surgeries in most states. Restrictions on shops and restaurants have also been relaxed.
