Parents of citizens and permanent residents can now enter Australia

Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia, announced that parents of citizens and permanent residents of Australia will be recognized as direct relatives.
This announcement means that parents will be able to apply for exceptions to enter States that have exceeded 80% vaccination (second dose).
This measure will be effective as of November 1, 2021
“I know it will be news very well received by Australians across the country who were hoping to reunite with their families, with their parents who are abroad,” were the words of the Prime Minister this Friday at a press conference.
