Validate your professional title in Australia. How and for what?
23 March 2022 By RC Migration
Determining the type of visa to apply for is essential and one of the essential requirements is to have obtained a positive evaluation of the occupation to be nominated.
Who does this evaluation?
This evaluation is carried out depending on the occupation used to nominate the program.
For example, if the person’s occupation is Engineer, the assessment should be done by Engineers Australia. For an architect the AACA which is the Australian Association of Architects. Trades Recognition Australia for some occupations at a technical or technological level, ACS, AITSL, CPA, ACECQA among others.
The entity that performs the evaluation of occupations that do not have a specialized association is called VETASSESS.
Vetassess performs, among others, the evaluations of some of the occupations on the list of occupations in the short term and in many cases these occupations give the candidate options to present a positive evaluation with which he can enter the qualified work program applying for a visa. temporary or even permanent in some cases.
Reasons why the Skills assessment is important:
For the qualified work program or “General Skilled Migration” or GSM it is necessary to have an occupation that determines that the person is eligible to be invited to one of the visas that make up this migration plan.
The visas that are part of this plan are:
189 Independent:
This visa does not require an invitation from any State that grants sponsorship, but the score required to apply for this option is quite high.
190 Permanent work visa:
This visa offers the advantage of being permanent, needs the sponsorship of a State or territory and awards 5 points to the candidate who contributes the minimum 65 points for a qualified work visa.
491 Temporary Work Visa:
This visa is a provisional visa that is granted for 5 years and represents significant benefits for candidates because it contributes an additional 15 points to the 65 points required for a work visa.
Through this visa, you can also obtain a permanent visa by meeting two conditions: living in the State that gave the sponsorship for three years and having a minimum income of $53,900 Australian dollars in each of those years.
Professional experience outside Australia is lost after a certain time and with it, important points are also lost to apply for some of the aforementioned visas. Making the decision to start validating your title on time is key to guaranteeing the success of your immigration process.
