What is the Global Talent Visa

Australia wants to attract highly qualified professionals from around the world to settle in this country, thus promoting key sectors for economic and social development.
For this reason, Australia has created a visa for these professionals called the Global Talent Visa. With this visa, you will be able to live permanently in Australia, bring your family and eventually apply for Australian citizenship.
To decide who can apply for this visa, criteria such as knowledge area, academic qualifications, work experience and certified exceptional skills are evaluated. All this is taken into account because whoever is elected must have the ability to attract a salary of at least $ 153,600 AUD per year.
How do I know if I can apply?
If you are internationally recognized for predominant achievements in areas such as academic research, the arts, sports, or have held relevant positions in your profession, you could consider applying for this visa.
Please note that you must be nominated by an expert in your same area who is a citizen of Australia or New Zealand. This person should be an eminence in your area and should explain why your profile is unique.
What sectors does Australia want to promote with this visa?
Australia wants to promote the economic sectors that it considers important for the country’s economic recovery. These areas are:
AgTech
Technologies related to agriculture. These could be the use of drones in agriculture, livestock tracking, temperature and humidity sensors, genetic modification, use of robots in agriculture.
Advanced space and manufacturing
Technologies related to additive manufacturing (3D printing), robotics and automation, advanced materials, artificial intelligence and machine learning, nanotechnologies, biotechnologies.
FinTech
Technologies related to the financial and banking sector. Fintech describes any company that uses the Internet, mobile devices, software technology, or cloud services to perform or connect with financial services.
Energy and Mining Technology
Technologies related to renewable energies. These could be related to solar panels, wind turbines and other sustainable energies.
MedTech
Technologies related to the medical sector. These could be related to pharmaceutical research, medical devices, biotechnology, vaccines, digital health, etc.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity involves the protection of computer systems connected to the Internet. Research and technologies to protect the user of a computer from cyber attacks.
